Shari Vermeulen has been baking since childhood with her mom on Long Island, NY. During college in NC & Paris, France, she refined her baking with southern flavors and French technique. She obtained a professional baking & pastry certification from VT's New England Culinary Institute and completed a stage with Chef Eric Bedoucha at Financier Patisserie in Brooklyn, NY. While in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Shari created custom cakes for Blue Mountain Bakery. Shari launched Shugah Cookie Baking Co. in summer 2020 in her hometown of Stowe, VT.

Shari has always woven her love of baking and gathering people together into her own event planning business. While events may look different today, sweet and special celebrations are always on the menu. Today, Shari brings her celebratory style to the table, literally, as she creates handmade all-American treats that celebrate the sweet life at home. 

Shugah Cookie Baking Co. is a playful and accented tribute to Shari's New York roots and her years in the American South. Think subway tile meets seersucker with sprinkles and luster dust thrown around like confetti!

We love buttah and shugah; we love vibrant flavors and high-quality ingredients. As much as possible, we use responsibly sourced and local Vermont ingredients and we do not use artificial colors, preservatives, hydrogenated fats, high fructose corn syrup or chemicals.
